Shortly after 50 Cent began to assert himself in the business world with a foresightful investment into a product by Glaecu called Vitamin Water, the iconic founder of G-Unit heaped praise on a New York Times best-selling author named Robert Greene. 50 Cent has often attributed many aspects of his business practices to the 48 Laws of Power, referring to the book on numerous occasions. The two entrepreneurs wrote a book together in 2009 called The 50th Law, and have since developed a friendship where both men have lauded one another for the advice they have received over the years.
Robert Greene recently appeared on an episode of The Game Changing Attorney Podcast with Michael Mogill, where he discussed 50 Cent's ascension from hustling and carving a name for himself as an independent recording artist to navigating his way to the top of the music industry after nearly losing his life in what has become one of the most famous gun incidents in the history of rap music.
"When it comes to 50, there is something about him that’s different," Greene said. "There is an energy, and I think the energy is his realistic outlook. He’s not someone who wants to get high all the time and just live in this fantasy world and imagine having money."
The six-time best-selling author continued: "He’s extremely realistic when he looks at the world, and I think actually he got that from his mother, to be honest with you. His father was a drug dealer, a hustler, who was killed when he was I believe, nine years old. She had that kind of hardcore mentality."
When 50 Cent caught wind of his friend's high praise, he reciprocated with a complimentary message of his own via Instagram, along with a repost of the interview.
"Robert Green is no joke. 48 Laws of POWER," 50 Cent wrote. "Im sharp as a blade out here, watch me you’ll see."
