Many have been reacting to the usage of AI in music, with Timbaland recently endorsing the use of the technology. The backlash against AI in music found Young Guru calling out Timbaland, saying the move by the producer was “corny” and dangerous. Now, Ice Cube has entered the conversation, making it clear what he will do if someone attempts to put out AI-generated music featuring his voice.

While on the ‘Full Send’ Podcast, the legendary rapper was asked about Drake’s A.I. version of Ice Spice’s “Munch.” From there, Cube said, “I don’t want to hear an AI Drake song. I don’t want to hear that bulls**t. He should sue whoever made it.”

A host then said an Ice Cube song may be on the horizon, which led the rapper and actor to say, “And I’m gonna sue the muthaf**kas who make it, too, and the people behind the platform who play it. It’s like a sample. Somebody can’t take your original voice and manipulate it without having to pay.”

Cube isn’t the only one looking to protect himself in the new world of AI-generated sounds, as Will.I.Am said he was trying to protect his “facial math” from A.I. technology. Watch Cube’s take above.
