About four years ago, Sacramento-based rapper Chito Rana$ was sentenced to nearly three decades in prison upon being convicted of attempted murder in aid of racketeering. Law enforcement's investigation into Chito's criminal activity revealed ties to a subsidiary of the Mexican Mafia located in his hometown. Subsequently, his arrest became part of a federal probe known as Operation Frog Legs. During Chito's incarceration, his close friend and fellow Sacramento native Jali$co was tragically gunned down in San Jose, approximately 120 miles south of California's capital city. The rapper from the High Park Sureños was reportedly attacked around 4 am, shortly after leaving a nightclub. His untimely passing stuck an emotional chord with Chito, who was released from behind bars about eight days ago. He shared his thoughts on Jali$co's passing while he was behind bars. But in a recent interview on the Rosecrans Vic Podcast, he recounted his feelings on the tragedy before diving deeper into the emotional rollercoaster that the news triggered while he was locked up.
