Previously, news surfaced that NBA referee Eric Lewis had a burner social media account. Now, it has been reported that an investigation into Lewis and the alleged account has been launched.
The alleged account—@CuttliffBlair, reportedly reacted to many tweets related to referees in the league, defending Lewis and other referees in the process. According to NBA guidelines, referees are not allowed to comment on NBA officiating publicly without receiving the green light to do so.
Lewis has been with the NBA for 19 years and has played the role of referee in 1,100 games. The referee even officiated Game 1 of the 2023 Western Conference finals with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Denver Nuggets.
Because of this, LeBron James has reacted to the news. Via Twitter, James went on to say, “This Eric Lewis 💩 true??? 🤨.” James’ curiosity comes after the Lakers were swept by the Nuggets in their series.
