Two teens from Texas have been arrested and charged with felonies after allegedly launching a fart spray that reportedly caused Caney Creek High School to be evacuated.
The prank found the two teens—18-year-old Diego Flores and 17-year-old David Arce allegedly let off a fart spray on May 3, and it was noted that a strong gas-like odor was detected at Caney Creek High, which led firefighters to evacuate students from the school. Arce allegedly admitted to using the “fart spray,” according to The Courier of Montgomery County.
Caney Creek resumed classes the next day but evacuated once again around 12 PM because the odor resurfaced. School officials noted that six students were taken to the hospital for nausea and headaches following the incident and that hazardous materials crews took three days to look over the campus with gas detection equipment to search for leaks. Despite the search, they weren’t able to find anything.
Flores and Arce were charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, which is a third-degree felony. The charges against the two teens are punishable by up to 10 years in prison. Both teens were released after posting a $3,000 bond.
