It's been nearly a decade since The Boondocks last aired. The Award-winning cartoon featuring contributions from voice actors such as the late John Witherspoon, Regina King, and Gary Anthony Williams became a cult classic and an integral part of Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network before ending its run after four seasons. Since then, fans have been clamoring for the series to return, and it nearly did in when HBO Max promised a reboot in 2019. Unfortunately, the plan was short-lived, as production was canceled in 2022.
Shortly after the disappointing announcement, Gary Anthony Williams, who famously voiced the fan-favorite Uncle Ruckus indicated that the reboot was scratched because the production was taking too long to complete. Nevertheless, the 57-year-old temporarily quenched the thirst of the show's loyal fanbase this week when he did an impression of Uncle Ruckus meeting Mufasa, the iconic character from The Liong King, and his new show on the Disney Channel called The Lion's Guard.
Gary recently uploaded the video to his TikTok account. The footage has gone viral. Scroll up to check it out!
