Essence Fest revealed flyers that showed off their line-up for the entire event. Each flyer posted displayed which artists and entertainers would be on stage based on where they are from in the United States.
Rapper Juvenile took to social media to call out Essence Fest after they posted the line-up for ‘The South Got Something to Say,’ which is being curated by Jermaine Dupri. The line-up featured Gucci Mane, Big Boi, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and T.I., but did not include the Cash Money veteran.
Juvenile retweeted the flyers and said, “How is Essence doing 50 years of hip hop in New Orleans without me???” From there, he promoted another show that he and Mannie Fresh will be a part of, called ‘Donna Fest.’
“F that Donna Fest July 2nd me w my live band +Mannie Fresh +Rebirth & more [gold star emojis] & the best food vendors new orleans has to offer I should know I'm from here! Our 🎟 are just $25!” said Juvie. As of now, Essence and Jermaine Dupri haven’t responded.
