2Pac's biological father, Billy Garland, sat down with The Art of Dialogue to speak about being interviewed for the "Dear Mama" series by Allen Hughes.

The interviewer told Garland that Hughes once called 2Pac "delusional" and a "mythmaker," and Garland revealed that he would've never agreed to sit down for "Dear Mama" had he known that beforehand. Garland then explained that he was disheartened when Hughes asked him, "Do you think 2Pac was bipolar?"

Garland stated that 2Pac would "flare up" at times because he was being painted in a light that he didn't believe was true, including when he was accused of sexual assault. 2Pac was sentenced to 18 months to 4+1⁄2 years in prison in the case, and Garland revealed that 2Pac told him he was "hurt" over the accusations while serving his time.
