Storied producer Metro Boomin has been pushing towards hit after hit, with the producer recently handling duties for the ‘Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse’ soundtrack. Now, Metro has taken time to reflect on the loss of his mother, one year after the tragic incident that took her life.
Via Instagram, Metro posted numerous photos of her and him together and began saying, “I can’t believe today makes 1 year since we have lost You my Love. You were the best Mother and friend that anyone could possibly even pray for. You dedicated every second and every ounce of your being to the betterment of your five children and our family as a whole. Our time was cut short but I’m still so grateful for all that you have taught me and the values, lessons, and morals You have instilled in each of us.”
The producer’s mother’s life was taken in a murder-suicide in June 2022 at the hands of his stepfather. Metro expressed the pain he feels from her loss, saying, “This s**t hurts so much having to live every day knowing I won’t hear your voice or see your face again, but based on everything you taught me, I’m confident and know that this new reality and experience will 100% no doubt continue to shape me into a better man than I would have ever been able to become with You down here in the physical form. You’ve always said that I’m a hero to not only my younger brothers and sisters but to millions of others out there from afar.”
Metro then noted the loss of his mother is a part of his “origin story” and that he will continue to move forward in her honor. Take a look at the full message above.
