Rapper and podcast host Danny Brown has made waves during his ongoing career, and the rapper’s influence has allowed him to tour with major artists. Along the way, Brown joined a tour with Childish Gambino, an opportunity he was thankful for but said was “one of the worst tours” ever for him.
While on his ‘Danny Brown Show,’ the artist got into how he toured with Donald Glover. “I mean, s**t, man, Childish Gambino. I remember when I first did [‘Toxic’], people weren’t really f**king with Childish Gambino like that around that time.” Brown said, “I remember when [Glover] asked me to go on that tour. My manager at the time was like, ‘You sure you wanna do this?’ I’m like, ‘Hell yeah, f**k that. I’m tryna get on the road.’ Which was, I will say, that was like one of the worst tours I ever played.”
The rapper explained how the tour played out on most dates, saying, “They hated my guts every night – I was getting booed off stage. I remember I was crying one night, crying crocodile tears like a little bitch, sitting in some diner.” He gave more detail to his experience, saying, “We had some hoes with us and everything. I ain’t even wanna do s**t with the b**ches, man. I’m like, ‘They hate me, man. This shit sucks. I’m really trash.'”
Brown then spoke about how impressed he was with Childish Gambino’s skill in the studio despite them making completely different types of music.
