Update 06/04/2023 4:29pm:

It was recently reported that Gervonta Davis was taken into custody after he sat in an “impromptu” court hearing in Baltimore. No details related to why Davis was taken into custody were released, but now the boxer has called from jail to say why he was locked up.

Footage of Davis on Instagram Live surfaced, with the footage showing a phone call where Tank gave an update. The boxer said “Basically, I bought a property” for a pending house arrest sentence and that he listened to his lawyers. However, he is now in jail, claiming the judge is doing “stuff that is not right” to him.

Davis said, “She’s mad because I bought a property, She wanted me to be in a 1-bedroom apartment, and I couldn’t even take that. She wanted me to stay in a [one-bedroom] apartment. I couldn’t have my kids come visit me or nothing like that.” He then said he wanted to spread the word on the situation, saying he feels the judge is taking advantage of him. Watch above.

Boxing's current No. 1 attraction, Gervonta "Tank" Davis, was recently taken into police custody after sitting for an "impromptu" court hearing in Baltimore.

According to TMZ, Davis was confirmed to have been booked at Baltimore Central Booking on Thursday following the court hearing but no details have been disclosed about the nature of his detainment.

Davis recently struck a plea deal to keep him out of jail in relation to his November 2020 traffic incident where he slammed into a Toyota after allegedly running a red light. Prosecutors say the woman driving the other vehicle was pregnant and Davis fled the scene without offering to help.

The boxing champ was sentenced to 90 days of house arrest on May 5 and was ordered to 200 hours of community service. Davis's attorney told reporters he will serve the remainder of the 90 days in jail.
