O'Block is located in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, an area famous for producing some of hip-hop's most polarizing rappers such as Chief Keef, Lil Durk, and King Von. Englewood is also notorious for having the highest murder rate among the city's residential areas. Despite anti-violent initiatives from Chicago's previous mayor, Lori Lightfoot, and her replacement Brandon Johnson, the city just endured a record-breaking Memorial Day weekend where 53 residents were shot (and 11 died). Amid the discouraging stat line, members of O'Block recently went viral for a photo that shows them engaged in Islamic prayer, while in unison, directly in front of the iconic Parkway Gardens (O'Block) apartment complex.
