Erykah Badu announced she was going on her ‘Unfollow Me’ tour and noted Yasiin Bey was set to be the opening act for all 25 scheduled tour dates. While the news is great for fans, Yasiin may face issues affecting his money from the tour.

According to court documents, one of the mothers of his children—Karima Sorel, is looking to get almost $100,000 in earnings from one of his shows for her court fees related to child support hearings. Sorel is based out of Paris and claims that Bey owes her $88,602.

Because of that, Sorel and her lawyers have requested that a Manhattan judge enforce the judgment against the rapper and take the wages from Live Nation, Ticketmaster, and BaduWorld Inc. to pay off the debt.

Manhattan Supreme Court papers said, “This matter arises out of protracted child support proceedings in Family Court between Karima Sorel [...] and the child’s father.” Court records say Yasiin Bey was supposed to pay Sorel’s attorney fees in March 2020 after being called out by Brooklyn Family Court for his “persistent refusal to pay child support.”
