Previously, Bobby Shmurda reacted to Uncle Murda’s ‘Rap Up 2022’ by saying, “I’m a changed man.” Along with that, the rapper previously reflected on changing his life after shooting people and doing six years in prison. Shmurda has taken it a step further, revealing he doesn’t listen to rap music anymore.

While on ‘The Danza Project,’ the rapper spoke about distancing himself from rap music, noting he doesn’t like how young kids are being misled by the recent messages that younger rappers have presented in their music. Shmurda said, “These kids are following you guys, and you’re rapping about these f**king lifestyles…and it’s very dangerous to the communities 'cuz these little kids think that [it’s] going on, and you did not even live it.”

The rapper then revealed what he thinks the purpose of rap is, saying, “Rap is supposed to be telling muthaf**kas to go from negative to positive, coming from poverty to go to riches… and how to stay in that and how to change. That’s the s**t that I want to hear. I wanna hear about living life.”

Shmurda then pointed out what he listens to these days instead of rap, saying, “I don’t know nothing about no rappers. Only time I listen to rap is when I’m in the club.” Watch above.
