According to reports, Cuba Gooding Jr. settled his civil sex abuse case ahead of the trial that was set to take place at 10 AM on Tuesday (June 6).
Gooding was accused of raping a woman identified as Jane Doe whom he met while at a Greenwich Village bar in 2013. Gooding reportedly faced the possibility of millions in damages, but “the parties have resolved the matter,” according to an entry on the court docket.
Terms of the settlement between Gooding and Jane Doe were not disclosed, and it was revealed that three other women who accused him of sexual abuse would testify if the case went to trial.
Gooding denied raping the woman, saying their time together was consensual. The settlement means Jane Doe won’t have to publicly reveal her name, which was set to take place in the trial. Stay tuned for more updates.
