On Thursday, tourists in Hurghada, Egypt, witnessed a tearful and horrific moment when a beachgoer died in one of the worst possible ways. A 23-year-old Russian citizen named Vladimir Popov swam into the Red Sea before being eaten alive by a Tiger shark. Bystanders captured the tragic incident on camera, and they could be heard gasping in shock amid the victim's screams while the shark distorted and mauled his body. According to the witnesses, the victim yelled, "Papa" because his father was watching helplessly from ashore at the Egyptian beach resort as the entire event unfolded.
“We went to the beach to relax,” recalled Vladimir's father. “My son was attacked by a shark, it all happened in seconds.”
Shortly after the incident, the tiger shark was captured and brought to the beaches, where it was stabbed to death by the beachgoers. (You can watch that video here)
