Recently, WNBA star Brittney Griner and her teammates from the Phoenix Mercury were allegedly the targets of harassment by a YouTube personality at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport on Saturday (June 11).

The YouTube personality for Blaze Media—Alex Stein, was seen in a clip trying to speak to Griner and her teammates, saying, “Do you still want to boycott America?” The security guards surrounding the Phoenix Mercury players stepped in to keep the man away from the players, and one of Griner’s can be heard calling the man “weird.” From there, Stein responded, “Why am I weird? She hates America,” about Griner.

The WNBA has addressed the alleged incident, saying: “As we gather additional information about today's incident at the Dallas airport, it has come to our attention that this was orchestrated by a social media figure and provocateur. His actions were inappropriate and unfortunate.”

Brianna Turner, another player from the Mercury who was present, hopped on Twitter and said, “Player safety while traveling should be at the forefront. People following with cameras saying wild remarks is never acceptable. Excessive harassment. Our team nervously huddled in a corner, unsure how to move about. We demand better.” Watch above.
