The Denver Nuggets captured the franchise's first ever NBA championship after dispatching the Miami Heat in five games. Denver steamrolled through the regular season and looked dominant, at times, throughout the playoffs. Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokic took home Finals MVP honors after closing out the Heat with 26 points and 16 rebounds.
Jokic, with two regular season MVPs, a championship, and Finals MVP, now enters elite company with the likes of all-time greats such as Bob Pettit, Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Moses Malone, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
