Ted Kaczynski, the man known as the "Unabomber," died in an apparent suicide by hanging in a prison cell. 911 audio obtained by TMZ features someone inside the prison asking for assistance, stating that they "got a guy that was hanging" and adding that they had "a crash cart up there now." 

Kaczynski, 81, was transferred to FMC Butner in North Carolina due to his declining health amid his cancer diagnosis. Sources told TMZ that Kaczynski appeared very frail in the days leading up to his death, although his cancer diagnosis remains unknown. 

Kaczynski was arrested in 1996 after a 20-year domestic terror campaign that left three people dead and many others injured with his homemade explosions. At the time of his death, Kacynzski had served more than 25 years of his life sentence.
