Dr. Dre's exit from Death Row Records in the late 1990s is nearly as famous as his discography. After producing some of the most influential and commercially successful albums in the history of West Coast hip-hop, the co-founder of Death Row Records sought to establish his own venture. An imprint of Interscope Records called Aftermath. However, during a recent appearance on the Murder Master Music Show, King T, a Compton native and original signee at the label, revealed that Dr. Dre originally had a different name in mind for his company until legal matters forced his hand. When asked what Dr. Dre's preferred name for the label was, King T stated his belief that it was "Black Market."
