Tory Lanez and his legal team’s request to disqualify Judge David Herriford before his sentencing in the Megan Thee Stallion shooting case was denied. The decision from the Appellate Court said, “The petition for writ of mandate and request for stay are denied for failure to demonstrate entitlement to extraordinary relief.” Now, it has been reported that a date for the sentencing of Lanez has been revealed.

Legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff revealed the date, saying, “Tory Lanez’s new sentencing date is August 7.” From there, Cuniff revealed more details about Judge Herriford’s decision. “Judge Herriford scheduled it moments ago. Lanez appeared in court briefly, wearing orange jail garb and a black cap. His lawyers' sentencing recommendation is due Aug. 1. Prosecutors want 13 years,” said the reporter.

Currently, Tory Lanez is facing the possibility of 22 years and eight months in prison. Stay tuned for more updates.
