According to reports, human smugglers are using "cloned" FedEx vans to transport migrants across the US-Mexico border.
Border agents in Texas reported spotting a FedEx van near the border in El Paso and following the vehicle to discover at least 12 migrants crammed inside. On the same day, authorities at a different location found another FedEx stylized van carrying 14 migrants. Most of the migrants were originally from Mexico and Guatemala.
As outlined in Vice, "The vans, according to the investigation, were not used to cross the border but rather to transport the migrants who were already on U.S. soil past Border Patrol checkpoints without being searched."
Four men were arrested - two of whom were United States citizens, the other two Mexican nationals - on human smuggling charges.
