During an interview with TODAY, former NBA player Tony Snell revealed his autism diagnosis. Snell, who was the 20th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls, last played for the New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers during the 2021-22 season. During the 2022-23 season, Snell played in the G League for the Maine Celtics.
During his sit-down with Craig Melvin, Snell revealed that he decided to get tested for autism after his 18-month-old son was diagnosed, and he noticed that he had similar symptoms.
Snell stated, "I was always independent growing up, always being alone. I just couldn't connect with people on the personal side of things, and I'm like, you know what, if he's diagnosed, then I think I am too. That gave me the courage to go get checked up." You can hear more above.
