On June 9th, Flamin' Hot made its highly anticipated debut on Hulu. The Eva Longoria-led project became the most streamed premiere in the history of Searchlight Pictures (Slumdog Millionaire, 12 Years a Slave, and Black Swan). Yesterday, the fascinating tale about how Richard Montañez created America's top-selling snack (from 2017 to 2019) came to the White House lawn, where President Joe Biden, the First Lady, Jill Biden, and the director all addressed the attendees with a speech about the film's social and cultural importance. The screenplay for the newly released drama was written by Linda Yvette Chávez (Genetified), and it features a main cast of eclectic actors/actresses such as Jesse Garcia, Annie Gonzalez, Brice Gonzalez, Dennis Haysbert, Emilio Rivera, and more. With a plot that unfolds throughout the 1980s and early 90s, Flamin' Hot is a motivational biopic about a blue-collar family struggling to make ends meet while maintaining their livelihood in the middle class. The tear-jerking film depicts how Richard Montañez and his wife, Judy, overcame poverty with faith, community, culture, innovativeness, and belief in one another.

During the introduction for the screening, Joe and Jill Biden talked about how the premise of Flamin' Hot tells the story of so many families who face the same obstacles that Richard and Judy once did. Scroll up to take a look.
