The Denver Nuggets shouldn't have a care in the world as they sit atop of the basketball world after decisively winning the NBA title last week. However, since the Nuggets' Western Conference Finals series against the Los Angeles Lakers and the lack of media attention placed on the Nuggets during that series, Denver's head coach Michael Malone has been vocal about his disdain for the Lakers receiving more coverage, even in defeat.
So when Malone appeared on the Pat McAfee Show on the heels of their Finals victory, Malone took a bit of a jab at LeBron with his comments about retirement which is a reference to LeBron pondering retirement after getting swept by Denver. "Speaking of the Lakers, I just want you guys to know this is breaking news: I'm thinking about retiring," Malone said. "Only kidding, only kidding."
After LeBron caught wind of Malone's recent jab, he took to social media with his own subliminal shots. "In Europe for the last past few weeks and I hear I'm on your mind that much huh?" LeBron rhetorically asked. He concluded his brief remarks with telling Malone and his Nuggets, "Enjoy you light but just know I'm the SUN. I stay on forever!"
