News broke on Tuesday (June 20) that Taxstone was sentenced to 35 years in prison, and the famed podcaster took to Twitter to address the situation.

A message shared to his Twitter page read, "Just got 35 years for being victimized and reversing the situation. The beauty in it all is, I’m not doing 35. Be safe though." He later added, "Don’t worry my appeal will be swift." 

Taxstone also questioned, "How can you testify in open court that you and your friend decided to beat me up then beat me up and I protected myself and u claim self defense ???" You can read more above.

Taxstone recently was on trial for the shooting of Troy Ave and another man named Ronald McPhatter, a bodyguard for the rapper. The podcast personality was found guilty and it was revealed that Tax was sentenced to 35 years in prison as a result. 

According to Inner City Press, Judge Abraham Clott said Taxstone would be receiving consecutive sentencing, amounting to 35 years in total. Stay tuned for more updates.
