Afroman was previously in the news after the rapper revealed police in Ohio raided his home and allegedly took $400 after returning seized cash from the raid. Following that incident, the rapper revealed he was running for president of the United States in 2024. However, there may be a hiccup in that move, as the rapper was recently detained at the U.S.-Canadian border.

According to reports, the U.S. Border Patrol detained the rapper while he and his crew were trying to get back to America at the St. Lawrence River port in New York. As they got to an inspection zone, the rapper found $10,000 in cash and a small personal amount of marijuana in their vehicle. Afroman reportedly had a bottle of cannabis pain lotion while his DJ had cannabis gummies.

Afroman noted he was on the way to a show he was set to play in New York when he was stopped and that he thought he gave away all his weed to housekeepers and fans at his hotel. The rapper was detained for five hours and fined $500, while his DJ was also fined $500 for the gummies. While the weed was confiscated, no one was arrested due to the small amount of marijuana.
