However, it has since been revealed that the clip is from Chan's movie Ride On, and the woman in the video is his on-screen daughter Liu Haocun.
The viral clip led to questions about Chan's real daughter, Etta Ng Chok-Lam, who came forward with allegations that her famous father disowned her after she came out as gay. In a YouTube video uploaded in 2017, Chok-Lam stated that her parents had cut her off after she came out, leaving her living in poverty.
Asian news site 8days.com posted photos in October 2022 that showed Chok-Lam in line at a soup kitchen in Canada. Chok-Lam's wife, Andi Autumn, took to the Chinese social media site Weibo to deny rumors of homelessness and claimed that their life together was "blissful."
