Much like the Bloods, Crips, MS-13, and Surénos, the 18th Street Gang originated several decades ago in Los Angeles, California. Gang culture in Los Angeles County has always been prevalent in the West Coast rap genre, from the days of N.W.A. and Kid Frost to Nipsey Hussle and YG. Needless to say, encounters between gangsta rappers and gang members are not uncommon in the area. West Coast rapper Swifty Blue recently had a run-in with members of 18th Street. The heated disagreement was caught on camera.
