Ice Spice recently sat down with The Guardian and spoke about her career, what led her to get into rap, and being mentored by Nicki Minaj.
Ice Spice has worked with Minaj on the track “Princess Diana” and noted that after her viral song “Munch” came out, she was like, “‘Damn, all these other artists have a mentor.’” As a result, Minaj took the young rapper under her wing and revealed Ice Spice recently revealed what Minaj told her.
“She be telling me to learn from her mistakes – just watching her in general, if you pay close enough attention, you gonna see what you should do,” said the Bronx rapper. Ice Spice continued, “I love to talk to her about things that I can’t talk about publicly – it just means so much to be able to have somebody like her.”
