In 2019, a man named Patrick Crusius fatally shot 23 people at a Walmart in El Paso, Texas. The attack was a targeted one, according to witnesses and the convicted man’s admission, and now Crusius has been sentenced for his crimes.

Crusius pleaded guilty to 90 federal counts, which included 45 hate crime charges, according to NBC News. Judge David Guaderrama sentenced the 24-year-old White nationalist to 90 life sentences, with each life sentence representing one of his federal charges.

The mass shooting was noted to be one of the deadliest anti-Latino shootings in United States history.
