Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, which they point out is dated July 15, making it the first number-one rap album of 2023. Uzi's album sold 167,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending July 6, according to Luminate.

Uzi's album also set the record for the longest wait between #1 rap albums since 1993, when Cypress Hill’s Black Sunday opened at the top spot. The last rap album to go number one was Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains, which spent one week atop the chart dated Dec. 17, 2022.

Uzi has two previous albums that went number one- Eternal Atake in 2020, and Luv Is Rage 2 in 2017. Uzi recently promised fans that they would "drop the album yall really looking for" if Pink Tape made it to number one.
