Tony Yayo recently sat down and spoke with ‘Drink Champs,’ seemingly revealing new information about his career and his commentary on G-Unit’s rise. During the conversation, Yayo talked about 50 Cent’s first album, noting there was a song 50 didn’t like that ended up making ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
Yayo said, “50 didn’t even like ‘Many Men.’” The G-Unit rapper then noted he had a hand in helping the song make the album, saying, “That’s my talent. Look. Sometimes, my talent is, I could be in the studio, and I could pick the record for you. So, I’m like, ’50, you buggin’. ‘Many Men’ is the s**t.’”
According to Yayo, 50 had just survived being shot nine times, saying, “He’s in Jamaica Hospital — I’m like, yo, 50’s f**ked up. I pulled up to his grandmother’s block — there were shells everywhere, yellow tape. I’m like, yo, man, that n***a’s dead, yo.” Yayo concluded by saying, “That’s his mentality. And at the same time, he’s doin’ the music.” Watch at the 1:41:00 mark.
