On May 7th, around 5 pm, a popular rapper named Li Heat (Jerrmarius Deonta Sills) was walking down the street near 1500 Avenue L when a multitude of his rivals suddenly approached him before they discharged their firearms in his direction nearly 20 times. The incident left the 21-year-old in critical condition after law enforcement surmised that he was a target of the surprise attack. About a month and a half after the brutal shooting, Li Heat was pronounced dead at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. The talented young trap rap artist was best known for his single, "007," a song that earned him over 6 million views on YouTube. Thus far, no arrest have been made in connection to Li Heat's murder.
