When it comes to cryptic trash-talking and sending subliminal messages to a potential opponent, professional boxers perfected the art form long before the existence of Twitter and diss tracks in hip-hop. In the 2010s, fighters such as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Adrien Broner took the concept of antagonizing their opponents to new heights with tongue-in-cheek trash talk and attire that just so happened to resemble the national colors of their opponent's countries. In recent years fighters like Tyson Fury, Gervonta "Tank" Davis, Teofimo Lopez Jr, and Shakur Stevenson have continued the tradition with their own brand of antics. In a quest to secure his long-awaited showdown with the undisputed lightweight champion Devin Haney, Shakur has deployed attention-grabbing tactics like hopping in the ring and starring Haney down shortly after his win over Vasiliy Lomachenko and getting a promo girl to parade a message board in front of him that read, "Sign the Contract" during a separate occasion at a party.

On Tuesday, Ryan Garcia posted a workout photo of himself with Errol Spence Jr.(28-0) and their award-winning trainer, Derrick James. Less than 24 hours later, Shakur Stevenson shared a similar workout photo of himself with Terence Crawford (39-0), the man who Errol Spence Jr. will fight on July 29th in Las Vegas.

Also pictured in Shakur's post was a middleweight fighter by the name of Willie Monroe Jr.
