In the past 90 days, a collaborative effort in counter-narcotics involving the FBI, Homeland Security, the Justice Department, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Department of Defense, Customs and Border Protection, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Mexican Navy team up to seized approximately $158 million worth of cocaine and marijuana from three smuggling vessels in the Eastern Pacific Ocean. Since then, the U.S. Coast Guard has unloaded around 5,500 pounds of marijuana and 11,600 pounds of cocaine to the shores of San Diego on Monday, where the DEA began to process the drugs. At the conclusion of the operation, the U.S. Border Patrol deemed the endeavor a huge success.
