Despite the ongoing strike between the American actors/actresses who belong to SAG–AFTRA and their bosses within the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), Comic-Con San Diego decided to move forward with the annual event this year. SDCC 2023 is a departure from the previous years of the celebrated occurrence mainly because this time around, Hollywood's notable actors and writers from several highly anticipated films/television shows of the upcoming year, such as The Walking Dead: Rick & Michonne and Gen V (The Boys Spinoff) won't be partaking in what has become a fan favorite at the event, the cast panels. So, with a huge void to fill, the WWE sent a collection of superstars to SDCC to represent their brand with a panel featuring the retired three-time world champion Mick Foley, current WWE world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, Chelsea Green, and the former NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano. During the WWE panel, a kid strolled in cosplaying as the new NXT North American Champion, Dominik Mysterio. "Dirty Dom" just won the championship belt against Wes Lee, during Tuesday's tapping of WWE NXT in Orlando, Florida, with the help of his fellow members from The Judgement Day.
Before the clip ended, Dom's young fan took a playful jab at Seth Rollins by telling the champ that his guy was coming for his title in the future.
