Paul Pierce recently appeared on Cam’Ron and Mase’s ‘It Is What It Is’ show and spoke about his career in comparison to Dwyane Wade.
While explaining why he was better than D. Wade during his career, Pierce said, “Put Shaq on my team. Put LeBron and [Chris] Bosh with me. I’m not gonna win one?” Pierce said. “Put me, LeBron and Bosh, we not gonna win a couple?”
Since then, Pierce faced backlash for his comments, which caused him to hop on social media and address his previous statement. Pierce said, “I never compared myself to Dwayne Wade, I was asked a question how would u answer if u was me?”
Pierce continued by saying, I would never disrespect him he is an all-time great all I’m saying is the narrative surrounding me would be different if I was lucky enough to play with all-timers earlier in my career same can be said about Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, Melo, Allen Iverson the narrative would definitely be different is his resume better of course but this not about me comparing myself to him.” Read Pierce’s complete statement above.
