Hit-Boy didn't take kindly to the words of criticism offered up by journalist Max Bell who has bylines in L.A. Times, The Ringer and Spin.

Bell was critical over Nas's and Hit-Boy's latest collaboration Magic 2 in which he called the SoCal producer one of the era's “least inspired producers” while calling out Nas's oft-referred to shortcomings as a beat picker.

“Only Nas — who hasn’t picked an album’s worth of great beats since ‘94 — would make five albums full of loading screen beats from one of this era’s least inspired producers,” Bell wrote.

In a rather subdued response, Hit-Boy fired back later the next day "“Coming from a. failed journalist and failed musician. tough.”
