This November will mark the 30th anniversary of perhaps the most influential West Coast rap album ever, Doggystyle.  Produced by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg's debut effort is lauded by outlets such as Rolling Stone, MTV, and XXL as one of the great hip-hop LPs of all time. Doggystyle came on the heels of Dr. Dre's first studio album release (The Chronic) one year prior. Not only did Doggystyle change the landscape of rap music, but it forever ingrained marijuana culture into the genre, where it remains prevalent to this very day. The album featured bangers like "Gin and Juice" and "What's My Name?" But the song that has aged the best over time is "Ain't No Fun." Although it was never released as a single, this track has practically become an anthem for Los Angeles County natives.

Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre were set to perform a series of 30th-anniversary shows as a tribute to one of their best collaborative efforts, but in an Instagram post yesterday, Snoop Dogg announced that he had axed the concerts as a showing of solidarity with the actors/actresses involved in the SAF-AFTRA the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television Producers (AMPTP).

“We regret to inform you that due to the ongoing strike and the uncertainty when this will be over, we need to cancel the Hollywood Bowl show,” Snoop Dogg wrote. “We stand in solidarity with all of our brothers and sisters in the WGA and SAG-AFTRA during this difficult time and remain hopeful that the AMPTP will come back to the negotiating table with a REAL proposal and we can all get back to work."
