In many ways, Nelly put St. Louis hip-hop on the map, similar to the way his predecessors, Too $hort and Easy-E, introduced the masses to Compton and Oakland on the West Coast. His debut and sophomore LPs were highlighted by songs like "Country Grammar," "Ride Wit Me" and "Hot In Herre."
NLE Choppa recently went viral when footage of an upcoming music video for "Hot In Here" hit the internet (You can watch the clip here). The song was originally recorded and released by Nelly about five months before NLE Choppa was born in 2002. When NLE Choppa's viral clip landed on Nelly's desk, the three-time Grammy Award winner, took to IG stories to salute the young Platinum-selling rapper with a message of approval that read, "Go up Nephew."
