The Mexican community has a deep-rooted history in North America that predates the official formation of the United States. Today, Chicanos represent the largest Hispanic group in the U.S., making up nearly 62% of Latinos in the country. The visibility of Mexican American celebrities such as Eva Longoria, Robert Rodriguez, Carlos Santana, Oscar De La Hoya, Becky G, B-Real, and Berner has made all aspects of the culture appealing to other ethnic groups worldwide, especially in Asia.

Over the years, "subcultures" have sprouted in regions of Japan and China, where groups of individuals celebrate parts of Chicano and Cholo culture with lowriders, tattoos, music, and attire made popular by urban youths from the West Coast during the 1990s. The subculture has also spread further south to Vietnam, where a barber/tattoo shop called Viet Monster has garnered a devout following on social media.

The proprietors of the business go viral from time to time with photo dumps of their activities at the shop. This week was no different; scroll up and swipe right to view the images.
