Joe Burrow's NFL tenure in Cincinnati has resulted in an era of Bengals' football that has already surpassed the teams once led by former pro bowl quarterbacks such as Boomer Esiason, Carson Palmer, and Andy Dalton. The three-year veteran has already led the Bengals to two straight AFC Championship game appearances and a second-place finish in Super Bowl LVI. The Bengals exercised the fifth year on Burrow's rookie deal in April. The team entered training camp this Summer with the fourth-best odds to win Super Bowl LVIII, but their chances may have decreased significantly when their star quarterback went down with a non-contact leg injury during practice drills on Thursday. The severity is unknown.
Shortly after Burrow was carted off the practice field, Burrow's best number-one wide receiver, Ja'Marr Chase, spoke to The Athletic about the dialogue that he had with his QB while he was being carried off the field.
“We always give each other that nod” “He gave me a nod [to say] he’s all right. He’s a strong dude.” “I wasn’t really worried,” Chase said. “I believe he’s all right.”
