According to reports, crypto millionaire Fernando Pérez Algaba was declared missing on July 18. By July 23, the first signs of Algaba's fate had been revealed after the discovery of a suitcase containing human remains and July 26 marking the date when investigators discovered his torso and head.
The Barcelona-based Algaba was staying in Argentina at the time he was killed. He stayed at a rental property which he had booked until July 19. Algaba's Buenos Aires-based crypto trading company Motors Lettuce SRL was in serious debt and he reportedly had taken a loan from the Argentinian gang Barra Bravas. In light of his business with the gang, he left a note on his phone which read "If something happens to me, everyone is already warned."
Police have launched a murder investigation and have arrested one suspect in connection with his murder.
