In 1996, Michael Jordan led the greatest NBA team of all time to a 72-10 regular season record en route to jumpstarting the Chicago Bulls' second three-peat in eight years. The historic season for the Chicago Bulls was Jordan's first full year back after retiring from professional basketball in lieu of a Double-A baseball stint with the Chicago White Sox's minor league affiliate, the Birmingham Barons. The 1996-97 Bulls remain one of the most famous professional sports teams ever. In the decades that followed, MJ's game-worn autographed shoes and jerseys have been auctioned online for nearly $30,000 and 18,000, respectively. Soon, his 1996 Mercedes-Benz S600 Lorinser will be available for auction starting at just 23 dollars.
According to Whatnot, the platform responsible for overseeing the online sale, the vehicle from MJ's MVP season is worth about $120,000. "His Airness" drove the car for about eight years until his final season with the Washington Wizards in 2003. The car is metallic navy blue with a gray leather interior and a built-in car phone that still has Michael Jordan's name on it.
