On Saturday night, boxing fans will finally get their long-awaited answer to the question of who is the true king of the welterweight division. After surviving a knock-down-drag-out fight with Yordenis Ugás (32-5), Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr (28-0), the unified champion, has one final mountain to conquer if he hopes to move up from #2 to #1 in the welterweight division standings and that is Terence "Bud" Crawford (39-0); the top-ranked fighter in all of boxing. The super fight comes after years of failed negotiations between their promoters, Al Haymon (PBC) and Bob Arum (Top Rank), during which time the two men could have fought in their prime, similarly to when Sugar Ray Leonard fought Roberto Duran in 1980. Instead, this showdown will occur with fighters well into their thirties, much like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao before their bout in 2015.

The undefeated fighters will match up at T-Mobile Arena in what Spence Jr. has called boxing's biggest fight in twenty years. Although the southpaw is the underdog heading into the bout, he recently guaranteed a fight-ending knockout, which is interesting considering that Crawford is the one who has KO'd his last ten opponents.

“I’ll definitely be victorious," Spence Jr. said during an interview with Premier Boxing Champions. "I don’t know how it’s going to go. It’s going to be a knockout, or I’ll press him out, or I’ll box him. Whatever it takes to win, I’m going to do that, and I’m going to win the fight."

The pay-per-view fight will air live on Showtime at 5 pm EST. According to reports, both fighters will take home a purse of eight figures. During the weigh-in, Errol Spence Jr. tipped the scales at 147 pounds, while Terence Crawford came in at 146.8 pounds.
