YNW Melly appeared in court on Friday for the first time since his double murder case ended in a mistrial. An inmate whose hearing ended just before Melly entered the courtroom was heard saying "Free Melly" as he exited drawing chuckles from the rapper and other observers.
According to the Miami Herald, Prosecutor Kristine Bradley has requested a new trial start date for Oct. 2 which was agreed upon by the defense team. Bradley "also asked to try the rapper with co-defendant Cortlen Henry, known as YNW Bortlen." However, Broward Circuit Court Judge John Murphy didn't make a ruling on the request.
