Recently, news surfaced noting that Paul Reubens, more popularly known as ‘Pee-Wee Herman,’ passed away at the age of 70 after a secret battle with cancer.
Reubens reportedly delivered an apology to fans about keeping his battle private via Instagram ahead of his passing. On IG, the apology said “Please accept my apology for not going public with what I’ve been facing the last six years. I have always felt a huge amount of love and respect for my friends, fans, and supporters. I have loved you all so much and enjoyed making art for you.” Reubens is known for his 'Pee-Wee's Playhouse' series and the Tim Burton-directed 'Pee-Wee's Big Adventure.'
The comedic actor’s Instagram account gave a small bit of insight in Reubens’ battle with cancer, saying, “Paul bravely and privately fought cancer for years with his trademark tenacity and wit.”
