Derrick Rose was raised in the middle of gang territory on the South Side of Chicago, the youngest of four boys. Growing up in the Englewood neighborhood, his brothers Reggie, Allan, and Dwayne fought hard to keep the city's violent nature away from him, and it worked. His #25 basketball jersey was retired by Simeon Career Academy (High School), and his #1 Chicago Bulls jersey will likely hang in the rafters at the United Center after he retires. Although D-Rose is now a role player in the twilight of his career with the Memphis Grizzlies, he is still beloved for his eight-year run with the Bulls, where he became an Olympic gold medalist, three-time all-star, and the 2011 MVP.

D-Rose was recently spotted by an excited fan who saw him casually standing on the sidewalk by himself in the middle of a phone call. The footage has gone viral.
