Stephen A. Smith made headlines when it was announced that he, in conjunction with IMG Academy in Florida, would be hosting a youth basketball camp with a price tag inching ever-so-closely to $3,000. Much of the discussion around Smith's camp was critical prompting him to tackle the issue on his podcast, The Stephen A. Smith Show.
During his segment about the camp situation, Smith explained why he was agitated behind the way his playing career is being used to discredit him hosting a camp. Moreover, Smith brought up the work he's done to help raise scholarship funds for HBCUs to lay out his philanthropic bonafides in light of the hefty price tag of the upcoming camp.
